The station we wanted to leave on all day

What we play

We specialize in Indie, Britpop, Progressive, Alternative, Grunge and Classic Rock. Our curated programming features both legendary artists and emerging talents across these genres — sequenced the way DJs still care about flow, not as endless playlist skips.

Why sound quality matters to us

Online rock radio should feel intentional — dynamics, depth, and genres you actually asked for. We stream at 192kbps and up to 320kbps so guitars, vocals and room ambience survive. Read more in 320kbps Radio Streaming — Rock Music at Audiophile Quality.

Where to listen

Listen in the web player or with our apps for iPhone and Android, with AirPlay, Chromecast, Bluetooth speakers and car audio support. New listeners get a 14-day free trial with full 320kbps access — see plans and pricing.

NCR Editorial

Our articles — rankings, genre guides, comparisons, and Records, Vintage HiFi and Rock Nostalgia features — and our artist pages are written and maintained by the New Clear Radio editorial team, the same people who programme the station.

Editorial policy

• We write for listeners first: every guide should help you hear, find or understand rock music better.
• When we cite figures or industry data, we link to the original source.
• Rankings reflect our editorial judgement and say how they were made.
• We update articles when facts change; every article shows when it was last updated.
• Corrections and feedback are welcome through our social media channels.
